Mission Statement: The Cedarville County Jail provides state-of-the art facilities for both its juvenile and adult population, with a focus on rehabilitative services. The Cedarville County Jail strives to create a culture of respect, service and learning for both its incarcerated population and staff. Goals: To create a strategic plan that serves as a “living breathing document” and that “pervade(s) the entire organization” (Martello et al., 2016). To create a culture in which the inmate population is respected, cared for, and provided access to services critical to their rehabilitation, such as counseling and library materials. SWOT Analysis Response Assignment. To focus on the juvenile incarcerated population, ensuring that the state-of-the art facilities are matched with innovative and forward-thinking methods of rehabilitative services, in order to retain the ability to house the juveniles at the Cedarville County facility. Increase the number of female employees in upper-level careers at the facility. Create administrative systems that are appropriate, functional and serve the staff in doing the utmost for the prison population. Objectives: Review all administrative systems and replace those not working to serve the goals of the organization. Provide focused training for all corrections officers on de-escalation techniques and rehabilitative values. Provide drug and alcohol counseling for those employees in need of these services. Analyze the overall cost of all services the facility requires with an eye toward job training for the incarcerated population who can potentially provide some of these services. Outsource services that can be procured more cheaply, while focusing saved resources on improving staff morale and inmate services such as counseling. SWOT Analysis Response Assignment.
