Locating and selecting an appropriate instrument is an important part of the ass

Locating and selecting an appropriate instrument is an important part of the assessment process. The purpose of this assignment is to give you experience in selecting and evaluating standardized assessments. The student will complete a 3-4 page written, comprehensive test review of one assessment designed to measure a construct (e.g. personality, academic development, social development, types of psychological diagnoses, career discernment, substance use disorder screening, process addiction screening, values inventory, skills inventory, interest inventory, and/or career readiness). Ideally, the assessment you select to review should pertain to your specific training emphasis or clinical interest area. Be sure to explore several resources when researching information regarding your measurement tool. Students are encouraged to use the following sources to develop their review: Peer reviewed journal articles (counseling and psychological journals are excellent sources to find assessment tools), Mental Measurement Yearbook, Tests in Print, the official test manual from the assessment’s publisher, Buros Mental Measurements.
