Intercultural competence
This project aims to help students deal with intercultural differences in a more competent way, which entails the ability to cope adequately with one’s own cultural background in interaction with others. Quite often there are hidden differences in attitudes and values across cultures. These differences naturally have a far-reaching influence on interactions between members of different cultures. It is crucial, therefore
1. Brief history/basic facts/geography/ethnicities of the nation to establish context
2. Language, Literacy, and Education
In addition, 5 points extra credit will be awarded to each person who interviews at least one person from that country and/or spent a significant amount of time there, and uses that interview as supporting material throughout the speech. (This is in addition to the required research sources.)
