Question : I have a 401K ROTH Through SSAI Inc (Managed by Transamerica).<br/>Background<br/>My current age is 77<br/>- The Roth 401K was started in 2011. My contributions totaled $15,726.<br/>- I retired in 2016 and stared taking my RMD. Total RMD for 2016 to present is $4,296.<br/>- Value of the Roth 401K as of 31 Oct is $27,131<br/>- I know that if I transfer the Roth 401K to a Roth IRA The 5 Year rule kicks in (I do not currently have a Roth IRA.<br/>My question is “If I do that what is my “Basis dollars”. Is my contribution equal to $11,430 (Contributions – RMD), OR since the Roth 401K is over 5 years old would it be the current market value.<br/>JA: Have you talked to a tax professional about this?<br/>Customer: No<br/>JA: Anything else you want the Accountant to know before I connect you?<br/>Customer: I think that is it
