This week, you will be giving the speech you wrote last week. You’ve received feedback and used that information to make it even stronger than it was, so now it’s time to take the final steps: preparation and delivery. If you are in a face-to-face course, you will give your speech to your class. If you are in an online course, you will need to submit a video of yourself giving the speech. Step 1: Practice giving your speech, using the advice from the readings and videos above. Practice until you are comfortable with the message you are delivering. CMN201 Assignment Use power poses to build your confidence. Step 2: Practice with distractions like a crying toddler, a noisy TV show, or other kinds of interference. Step 3: Throw your speech away. If that makes you panic, copy the keep points onto note cards–just enough words to help you remember what you planned to say. Step 4: Give your speech to your class or make a video of yourself speaking, depending on the type of course you are taking (see above).
