This week’s exercise requires you to make assumptions and then support your assumptions with reasons that might be used in actual NFP decision processes.
In any case, this exercise is designed to prompt you to think about real-world examples of how we as financial managers might go through the decision making process for adopting and modifying budgets and applying revenue projection policy.
You are expected to be creative in applying assumptions about how you would explain your choices related to a “Capital Expenditure Request”.
Be thorough and explain any assumptions you are using.
So, the exercise is somewhat “free-style”, giving you a lot of latitude in your responses. You should not be so worried about getting it “right or wrong”. Just be yourself, analyze the situation, and insert your own best judgment. The exercise is designed to explore how you think about these issues.
